About Malibu

MalibuMalibu is a popular beachfront destination located along scenic Pacific Coast Highway on the western edge of Los Angeles County. The city offers 27 miles of coastline, is 8 miles wide, bordered on the north by the canyons of the Santa Monica Mountains, on the east by Topanga and Pacific Palisades, and to the north by Ventura County.

Famous for its beautiful beaches, spectacular homes and celebrity residents, Malibu is a unique close-knit community that offers residents and visitors fine dining, upscale dining, luxurious spas, private resorts and seaside B&Bs. On any given day along the city’s coastline you will find sunbathers and surfers enjoying the diverse and plentiful beaches.

Zuma Beach offers free parking and offers volleyball courts and swings for children. Malibu Surfrider Beach is the beach where the famous Malibu Pier is located. Malibu Lagoon State Beach is located just west of the Pier, and is a great place to watch wildlife or fish. The Adamson House/Malibu Lagoon Museum is located here. Point Dume State Beach is state owned and features cliffs, rocky coves and vast beach access. Here you can enjoy incredible views of the Santa Monica Bay, north Malibu Coast, inland Santa Monica Mountains and distant Catalina Island on a clear day.

Other Malibu beaches include Topanga State Beach, Dan Blocker Beach, La Piedra Beach, Nicholas Canyon Beach, El Pescador Beach, El Matador and Westward Beach. If you are looking for scenic parks, be sure to visit Malibu Creek State Park, which offers hiking and biking trails, horse paths and bird watching.
